How did the word boy come about?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

It's not very clear in History, but most people have said that it's from the Anglo-Normal word, 'abuie' or 'embuie', which came from the old French verb 'embuier'. But some people also say that boy is what they used to call a male servant in England. Hope that helps! :)
