for (i) the denominator cannot be zero \[x^3-x=0\Rightarrow x(x^2-1)=0\] thus x=-1,0,1
-1 and 0 won't make the denominator 0
i) -1, 0, 1 ii)-1,1 iii) 1 iv)1,2
