40 degrees and 50 degrees

but why??? explain

OpenStudy (anonymous):

4:5, one value has 4 parts for every 5 parts of another, and added together we know that equals 9. Complementary angles are angles that add up to 90 degrees, which we know is 9 multiplied by ten multiply 4 by ten and 5 by ten, and we get our answer.
