you roll two dice what is the probability that the sum of the dice is less than 5 and one dice shows a 2?

OpenStudy (bme89):

There are only two possibilities for those two conditions: rolling a 1 & a 2 and rolling two 2s. There are 36 combinations when rolling two dice (6*6). 2/36

OpenStudy (amistre64):

bme lost count :)

OpenStudy (bme89):

oh haha yeah, there is the opposite also, 2 & a 1

OpenStudy (amistre64):

gotta do a quick edit and ... its good to make a table with the small ones: shows a 2 1 2 3 4 5 6 1 * 2 * * * * * * 3 * 4 * 5 * 6 * now take off thos that are equal to or greater than 5 1 2 3 4 5 6 1 * 2 * * 3 4 5 6 now, out of 36 outcomes, whats left? thats better

OpenStudy (amistre64):

1,2 2,1 and 2,2 all satisfy the condition out of 36
