What is the product of (6 × 103), (4.6 × 105), and (2 × 10−2) expressed in scientific notation? how do you figure this out?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

5372892 5.372892 * 10^6

OpenStudy (anonymous):

(1) 55.2 × 106 (3) 55.2 × 107 (2) 5.52 × 107 (4) 5.52 × 1010 those are the answers

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Oh, I though the three quantities were multiplied, not separate questions.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

first you multiply them all out, using a calculator, then you take whatever number you get this case being 5372892, and reduce it to a single digit number with decimals. 5.472896 then you count the decimals, 6 multiply the number by 10 to the number of decimals power 5.472869*10^6

the way you worded it made it seem like you wanted to multiply them all together.

but the instructions are basically the same.
