Use the distance formula

Find the length of the following segment created by these pairs of endpoints: (1, 1), (-3, 6) A: 36 B: 41 C: 4.6 D: 6.4 So i go (1,1) - (-3,6)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

use the distance formula: \[distance=\sqrt{(x _{2}-x _{1})^{2}+(y _{2}-y _{1)^{2}}}\] plug in the points in the x and y spots

you can use: http://www.calculatorslive.com/Distance-Formula-Calculator.aspx to check if you want

how do i check Find the length of the following segment created by these pairs of endpoints: (4.5, 7), (1.1, 4.3)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

just use a calculator this time, they can't expect you to do square roots of decimals in your head. write em into the formula, then plug the formula into your calc. (be careful with parentheses!!) aaand it should be around 4.34 i think
