how do you solve systems of inequalities graphically

OpenStudy (anonymous):

example?

OpenStudy (saifoo.khan):

Graph both, the point where they meet is the Solution.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

\[y >x-4 and y <2x+10\]

OpenStudy (saifoo.khan):

\[y \ge x -4, y \le 2x + 10\]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes what you said saifoo.khan

OpenStudy (anonymous):

it not equal to though just less than and greater than

OpenStudy (anonymous):

first u draw it like u would if it had an equal sign(=). however if it doesnt have the equal to thing underneath then u draw a dotted line

OpenStudy (saifoo.khan):

here u go!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

next if its a greater than symbol u shade above and if its a less than symbol shade below. the overlap of where u shade is ur solution

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok and i just solve the equation like a regular equation

OpenStudy (anonymous):

for the most part yes

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok thanks
