can someon explain how i get the answer?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

a greatest common factor is something used to simplify equations without changing them greatest common means the greatest common element between 2 or more numbers x^3 is common in -x^8, -11x^3, -22x^7 because it is the maximum that can be taken out, the restriction is due to the fact once u take out x^3, 11 is a constant and u cannot take out anything else
