subtract 2/3 on both sides
x = 5/6-2/3 x = (5-4)/6 x = 1/6
x+(2)/(3)=(5)/(6) Since (2)/(3) does not contain the variable to solve for, move it to the right-hand side of the equation by subtracting (2)/(3) from both sides. x=-(2)/(3)+(5)/(6) Simplify the right-hand side of the equation. x=(1)/(6)

1/6
