Assume a 125 pound person burns 150 calories after 15 minutes of jogging and 200 calories after 20 minutes of jogging. Use calories as the y-coordinate and minutes as the x-coordinate. After writing two ordered pairs, find the slope. What does the slope represent in terms of the information provided?

Okay, so what you really need to understand here is what slope means. Slope describes basically how "steep" your line is. In other words, how quickly does it go up as I move right?
The best way to describe slope then is rise over run. Rise is how much you go up. Run is how much I go over. A line that goes up 5 and over 3 has a slope of 5/3. A line that goes up 15 and over 3 has a slope of 15/3 = 5. It's steeper, so it has a bigger slope.
