What is the formula to find the distance between two points?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

\[d = \sqrt{(x_2-x_1)^2 +(y_2-y_1)^2}\]

Thank you!

it is pythagoras. \[a^2+b^2=c^2\] where \[a=x_2-x_1,b=y_2-y_1\] so you get \[\sqrt{(x_1-x_2)^2+(y_2-y_1)^2}\] for the distance
