In a right triangle, the length c of the hypotenuse is 14 and the length b of one of the legs is 8. Find the length a of the other leg to the nearest hundredth. Gunna time how long it takes to get an answer xD

OpenStudy (anonymous):

you need to solve \[14^2=8^2+b^2\] for b

OpenStudy (anonymous):

how fast can you do it?

hero (hero):

b = 2sqrt{33}

OpenStudy (anonymous):

a long time xD

hero (hero):

It was quicker than it took you

hero (hero):

As far as I know, when I came here, you had just posted the problem. According to twiddla, I took me two minutes between when you posted the problem and when I posted the solution. And I actually waited like a minute to see what satellite would post so it took me much less time. I already had it solved.
