I can give you a short summary of Hamlet: A depressed, prince tries to get the throne of Denmark back from his uncle...who incidentally killed the prince's father and married his mother. Along the way the girl who loves him commits suicide and someone dramatically talks to an unearthed skull named Yorik. 

Obviously there is much more to the story, but you know that, because you read it, right?
