list eight characteristics of living things
hmm it might be best to google this one
heterotrophesis,glucose,cellular,respiration, photosynthesise,producers,autotrophs,reproduction,sexual
A nice slideshow on it http://www.slideshare.net/cgales/characteristics-of-life
All living things don't photosynthesis, only plants and a few bacteria. Usually when they say 'characteristics of living things' they mean things that are characteristic of all living things. Producers and autotrophs both describe organisms that use light energy to produce chemical energy. Yes, reproduction is a characteristic of a living thing but not all reproduce sexually (coral for example is asexual).
Living things have a complex, organized structure that consists largely of organic molecules. Living things respond to stimuli from their environment. Living things actively maintain their complex structure and their internal environment, a process called homeostasis. Living things acquire and use materials and energy from their environment and convert them into different forms. Living things grow. Living things reproduce themselves, using a molecular blueprint called DNA. Living things, as a whole, have the capacity to evolve.
To make eight might add living things inherit characteristics from their parent organism.
Yes, you're right. I copied this characteristics from my old biology book. Thanks for the reminder.
No worries :)
They grow They Respire They repair them selves They reproduce They need Nutrients (food) They have cells (one or many) They require (use) energy They die eventually
