looks like it's pretty self explanatory, they walk you through everything nicely. momentum is simply:\[p=mv\]so granny's momentum will be 3*80=240 kg*m/s ambrose's momentum is 0*42=0kg*m/s total momentum is both momentums added together which is 0+240=240. after the collision the mass of granny+ambrose is the new mass of the system and due to the law of conservation of momentum you have: \[p_{granny}+p_{ambrose}=p_{ambrose+granny}\]\[240=mv=(m_{granny}+m_{ambrose})v=(80+42)v\] so the new velocity will be 240/122 which is just a little bit less than 2. So from this, you see ambrose's and granny's velocities are equal (she's carrying him) and the total momentum has not changed.

what will i put in the underline a. b. c. .d .e. f,

so you just want the answers, don't care how to get them? A) Granny's momentum = 240kg*m/s Ambrose's momentum = 0kg*m/s B) granny's speed decreases C)Ambrose's speed increases D) Total mass is 122 kg E) Total Momentum = 240Kg*m/s F) Final speed = 1.967 m/s
