trying to solve a volume ? 4/3multiply 22/7 multiply9and3/4 cubed3. I get 3883.982143. How do I turn that into a mixed numeral?

OpenStudy (amistre64):

hard to tell; can you write that up in mathematical notation?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

It's a sphere with a radius of 9and3/4

OpenStudy (amistre64):

lol .... that I can decipher :) \[\frac{4pi\ 39^3}{3\ 4^3}\] right?

OpenStudy (amistre64):

3882.4195 mixed is then: 3882' 4195/10000 reduced

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Sweet! how did you do it?

OpenStudy (amistre64):

well, i used pi instead of 22/7, but the answer is simply converted from decimal to fraction by sticking the decimal over 1 and moving it till you get an integer on top

OpenStudy (amistre64):

.4195 4.195 41.95 419.5 4195 ----- = ------ = ------ = ------ = ----- 1 10 100 1000 10000

OpenStudy (anonymous):

There forcing me to use 22/7.. critical thinking in my text book but nowhere does it show me how to get to a mixed numeral

OpenStudy (amistre64):

the reducing can be a pain for such large numbers tho

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes.. thank you!!!!!

OpenStudy (amistre64):

youre welcome :)
