simplify first
OpenStudy (anonymous):
(-3x+5)(x+2)
OpenStudy (anonymous):
over
OpenStudy (anonymous):
(x+4)(x+2)
OpenStudy (anonymous):
x+2 cancels out

-3x+5/x+4

x canot be -4 and -2
OpenStudy (anonymous):
TADA!!!!!!!!!
OpenStudy (aroub):
x^2+3x-10/x^2+2x-8
(x-2)(x+5)/(x-2)(x+4)
(x+5)/(x+4)
x is not equal to -4
OpenStudy (anonymous):
umm also -2 because if it was expression would be 0

i mean undfined
OpenStudy (aroub):
yes ur right but 2 not -2
OpenStudy (anonymous):
and aroub if u multiply by -1 u goota do it on top and bottom
OpenStudy (aroub):
i didnt i just factored the numerator and the denominator and then simplified x-2 with x-2
OpenStudy (aroub):
did u do the same??

but i thought it was -x^2 and +10
OpenStudy (aroub):
oh yea it is i just reordered them ...
OpenStudy (anonymous):
but if u multiply top u gottta do it to bottom
OpenStudy (anonymous):
the answer is -x-5/x+4
i just dont know how to get to it
OpenStudy (anonymous):
oh crap i did something wrong aroub was right

i dont understand how ya'll are simplifying it.
hahd: (-3x+5)(x+2) doesnt go back to 10-x^2-3x
aroub: (x-2)(x+5) doesnt either....
OpenStudy (anonymous):
i get x^2+3x-10 with (x-2)(x+5)
OpenStudy (anonymous):
((-x+2)(x+5))/((x-2)(x+4)
OpenStudy (anonymous):
perfect
OpenStudy (anonymous):
ok thnkx

wait! wait! wait!
what do i do now that i have this:
((-x+2)(x+5))/((x-2)(x+4)
OpenStudy (aroub):
ok after this, for the numerator u have to put the negative sign outside in order to simplify with denominator.. like this---> -(x-2)(x+5) so u cancel x-2 with x-2 and u get -x+5/x+4
