A sphrical ball has a radius of .50 cm and weighs 2.0g. Will this ball float or sink when placed in water?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

you have to find density mass/volume 4/3 pi r^3 4/3 pi .50^3=.52 .52/2 -> .26cm^2/g

OpenStudy (anonymous):

We have to compare that with density of water

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Thanks, but will it sink or float?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I need to know density of water which I can recall at the moment

OpenStudy (anonymous):

density of water is 1g/cm^3 which is more that our sphere so sphere would sink

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Thanks <3

* small correction I wrote .26cm^2/g which should have been .26cm^3/g
