The standard normal curve shown below is a probability density curve for a continuous random variable . what is the area of the shaded region between the two z scores indicatedin the diagram ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

when the Z scores are -1.36 and 0.85

OpenStudy (anonymous):

First find the area of the region from 0.85 down using a tables. Find the area of the region from -1.36 down and then find the difference in your two answers.

so i would find those numbers on the table then substract them

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yes, you will need a tables like this http://www.math.unb.ca/~knight/utility/NormTble.htm

OpenStudy (anonymous):

\[\int\limits_{a}^{b}f(x)dx\]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

for the -1.36 the number i got was 0.0869<-- for the 0.85 i got 0.8023 <-- so do i substract them from each other ?
