I'm going to second Jagatuba's tip to go with Bucky's tutorial. So many people use it that you can always get help or extra challenges by asking other people who are watching. The one thing that could improve Bucky's tutorial is challenges: if each video gave you a few puzzles to try on your own after watching, you'd get good even faster. (In general, Khan Academy is really good at pairing tutorial videos with challenges to help you apply your knowledge, but I haven't looked to see if they have any Java tutorials.) Does anyone have recommendations for Java challenges that would make a good companion for Bucky's videos?
