quick question ok so i have vista on my laptop can i i guess down grade to windows xp how would i go about doing this

put the xp cd into your drive and turn off your computer, then when you turn it back on, just when its booting up, press f12(most of the times) which is the boot menu. selct boot from cd and the instalation will begin. just select the option that lets you start from the beggining, not the one that says upgrade

If you didn't happen to have already burn a copy of your XP cd before you upgraded to vista, you'll have to call the manufacture of the computer, and they'll be able to mail you one. If your computer is still under warranty, they'll be able to do it for free if your OS is corrupt and the recovery methods don't work, and your hard drive is still in tact. If vista is still working, but you hate it, you might have to fake it.

The other thing you will need to do is delete the previous Vista partition and create a new partition on the drive, otherwise you will have problems with your XP install.
