What force needs to be applied to a mass of 2 tonnes to cause an acceleration of 20ms^-2?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

20000N

OpenStudy (amistre64):

Force = mass * acceleration right? then... they give you the mass and the acceleration :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Force = mass times acceleration, or \[F=ma\] convert tonnes to kilograms (1 tonne = 1000 kilograms), and substitute in i.e. \[F=2000\times20=40,000\rm{N}\]
