Which of the following is one of the factors of 2x^2 – 2x – 60? Answers: x All of the above x – 5 x – 6

2x^(2)-2x-60 Factor out the GCF of 2 from each term in the polynomial. 2(x^(2))+2(-x)+2(-30) Factor out the GCF of 2 from 2x^(2)-2x-60. 2(x^(2)-x-30) For a polynomial of the form x^(2)+bx+c, find two factors of c (-30) that add up to b (-1). In this problem 5*-6=-30 and 5-6=-1, so insert 5 as the right hand term of one factor and -6 as the right-hand term of the other factor. 2(x+5)(x-6)
