from the same post you did below, it appears that satellite provided you with an x component for the vertex; of which all that is left to do is plug it into the equation to see what y is equal to. try it out and lets see what you get

@mathtrouble this is straightforward. i can see how you would be confused by all that verbiage you got, but it goes like this: first coordinate of the vertex is \[-\frac{b}{2a}\] second coordinate is what you get by substitution i.e. put that number back in to find y the range will be from there up or there down depending on whether the leading coefficient is positive or negative
