3/4x - 1/2 = 1

OpenStudy (lalaly):

add half to both sides 3/4x=3/2 divide by 3/4 x=2

OpenStudy (anonymous):

2

OpenStudy (anonymous):

why wouldnt it be 2/3 ?

OpenStudy (lalaly):

because (3/2)/(3/4) = 3/2 * 4/3 = 4/2 =2

OpenStudy (anonymous):

you got 3/4x=3/2 and I am thinking that if I am adding adding 1/2 to the other side which is 1/1 then 1+1=2 and 1+2=3 so i would get 2/3

OpenStudy (lalaly):

nooo 1+ 1/2 = 2/2 +1/2 when adding fractions they should hav a common denominator

OpenStudy (lalaly):

n then u only add the nominator ... (2+1)/2 = 3/2

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yep... light bulb

OpenStudy (anonymous):

now when I am getting ride of the 3/4 i am * the 3/2 i seen you invert them but i think that some steps were left out for me
