I could really use some help on this question... Please.. A mountain drops 90 feet over a horizontal distance of 875 feet. What is the slope of the mountain? Round the answer to teo decimal places.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

drops=\[\Delta y\]=-90 \[\Delta x=875\]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

imram has it. divide

OpenStudy (anonymous):

-.10

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I don't understand divide by what and how do I get two decimal places

OpenStudy (anonymous):

sorry. thanks, justgrad :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

for every 875 feet horizontal (x), the mountain decreases (meaning negative in sign) in altitude (which is vertical, y). the slope, given above, =-0.102857... which is approx. equal to -0.10
