Hi, I m looking to get some programming fundamentals right so that I can kick start programming in C. For a beginner, how would you rate the book, Beginning C: From Novice to Professional, by Ivor Horton? Any other suggestions for a beginner level are welcome

even though I do know a little (very little) c, I wouldn't be able to answer that for you. You should ask in the computer science section since this study group is dedicated to MIT's 6.00 which uses python

Starting with pure C is a rough way to go. I suggest C++, Windows has a built in compiler, there is SAMS book "Teach Yourself C++", which is very good primer for learning C.
