What role does oxygen play in the formation and breaking of bonds?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Its more a chemistry question but from my knowledge its the two lone pairs of electrons on the oxygen that acts as a magnet to form and break bonds in molecules

Can the question more specific? Disulfide bonds does not require oxygen to form or break the bond...

OpenStudy (anonymous):

whats a disulfide bond??

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Disulfide bond is the bond between two sulphur atoms, like linking a cysteine amino acid to another...as in your hair.
