7t^9 Divided by t^6 . Help me out please? I need to learn exponent rules... -_-

OpenStudy (anonymous):

when you divide you subtract the exponent so 7t^9 / t^6 = 7 t^(9-6) = 7t^3

OpenStudy (anonymous):

When you multiply variables you will add their exponents if they are the same variable. \[(x ^{a})(x ^{b})=x^{a+b}\] When you divide variables you subtract their exponents (numerator-denominator) \[x ^{a}/x ^{b}=x ^{a-b}\]
