3√x+9=5

can you be clearer, is this the problem: \[3\sqrt{x+9}=5\]?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes

OpenStudy (anonymous):

okay the divide both sides by 3 and get \[\sqrt{x+9}=5/3\]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

then square both sides and get: x+9=25/9

OpenStudy (anonymous):

-56/9

OpenStudy (anonymous):

then subtract 9 from both sides and get x=-56/9
