what is the most important in poems?
the rhyme
the rhythm
the meaning and symbolism of the poems. not all poems have rhyme or rhythm. of course those are important, but they play into the author's intent for writing the poem. what is most important is to know why did the author write this?
Also the way the poem is written. Most poems are written lyrically or with some sort of rhythm or rhyme scheme (though none of those make a poem by themselves). However, what does make a poem good or bad is not just its meaning, but the beauty and way the writing aids in getting the point across. Without that, it's just prose.
Saying as much as you can using as few words as possible.
okey, GenXer is correct in part, I think that most discovered in the poetry is the invention of the metafora because you can use only a word and these word can explain a group of things, for example feels, tentations, times, etc..
