how do i identify real roots? the question is to identify all the real roots of 4x^4+31x^3-4x^2-89x+22=0

OpenStudy (anonymous):

for a 4th degree polynomial? you are kidding. use a graphing utility http://www.wolframalpha.com/input/?i=4x^4%2B31x^3-4x^2-89x%2B22%3D0

I suppose this is meant to be a DRoS question...

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Have you been studying the rational roots theorem?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

DRoS?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I don't know what DRoS is

Agree with Satelite though, drudgery. U get at most 2 or 0 positive and 2 or 0 negative then u have to use RRT or guess a root, etc.
