A mini license plate for a toy car must consist of three numbers followed by a letter. Each number must be a 3, 6, or 9. Repetition of digits is NOT permitted. Each letter must be an A, B or C. • Use the counting principle to determine the number • Construct a tree diagram to represent this situation • List the sample space. • Determine the exact probability of creating a mini license plate with a B. Give solution exactly in reduced fraction form. please show work and help!

OpenStudy (zarkon):

where are you stuck?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

on all of it?

OpenStudy (zarkon):

how many ways can you arrange the 3 numbers

OpenStudy (zarkon):

there aren't that many ...you could list them all

OpenStudy (anonymous):

369, 639, 936

OpenStudy (zarkon):

what about 396,693,963

OpenStudy (zarkon):

there are 3!=3*2*1=6 ways to do it

OpenStudy (zarkon):

how many choices do you have for the letter?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

a,b, or c

OpenStudy (zarkon):

so 3 choices

OpenStudy (zarkon):

then the total number of plates is 6*3=18

OpenStudy (anonymous):

how do i do the rest!

OpenStudy (zarkon):

I can't draw a tree diagram here so I'll skip that. as for the sample space...just list out all 18 possibilities 369A 369B 369C 396A ...

OpenStudy (zarkon):

one you get the list done the probability you have a B is the number of plates in the sample space that have a B divided by 18

OpenStudy (anonymous):

please show me how to draw a tree digram
