if im finding the domain and range on a graph is the domain the lowest point on the graph or is it the highest point??

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Neither. The domain is the set of all the allowed values on the 'x' axis.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

The domain is the highest x value to the lowest x value. The range is the highest y value to the lowest y value.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Not necessarily. the domain of 1/x is everything except zero, so that's not exactly highest x value to lowest x value.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

if you are looking at a graph, the left most point (on the x-axis) to the right most point gives the domain, assuming there are no holes or jumps in the funcition
