solve 4+5e^(-x)=9......not understanding how someone got x=0....could someone please explain this to me.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

rearranging and cancelling e^-x = 1 -> ln e^-x = -x = ln 1 = 0

OpenStudy (anonymous):

k?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

im not 100% sure if i got it. but i do see how you got. it just might be how the problem is set up then what im use to.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

the only awkward bit is taking the ln of both sides and seeing that ln 1 is 0.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yeah, i think i just got thrown off by this one problem. now that i am looking at how you got and the problem i can see it more.
