What happened to the study group of http://smarthistory.org/?

OpenStudy (owlfred):

It is still on retro.openstudy.com

OpenStudy (shadowfiend):

Not that it will be for long. The retro site will be coming down sometime in the next couple of months; already, it's barely maintained.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Owlfred & Shadowfiend, I saw the connection to the retro-site and that was exactly what puzzled me, since I know that the site is no longer maintained! (Sorry, should have been more precise in my question!) Is there the possibility to create study groups like ke smarthistory in the current version of openStudy? If not, why did you get rid of this feature?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Okay - figured it out somewhat.

OpenStudy (shadowfiend):

Sorry -- no, there isn't. Our vision is making the world one big study group, and we were finding that the ability to create study groups was fragmenting the community a bit too much for our tastes. We're considering other ways to team up with fellow users while still maintaining the larger community feel of the new site.
