make an outline first about what your gonna write (kind of like a guideline to your essay, except it doesn't have to be strictly followed).
Begin with a thesis (or introduction, thats the first paragraph), then continue into 2 paragraphs (the body). Finally, sum up the essay (restate the thesis but don't repeat) in the final paragraph.

first you need to know what kind of essay it is? is it persuasive?
most of the time AXES is easiest to use. If you would like i can explain it to you.

There exist argumentative essays, opinion essays, and instructional (lecture like) essays, among others. First, you need to fit the essay in one category, after you have done that, you can do it as it was explained above (the thesis part...). Also, this might sound stupid, but wikipedia is a good source of information in these kind of writing. The only way to write better is by practicing and reading. Hope you win this challenge.
