Because of medical advances and improved health care, people in the U.S can be expected to live longer. From 1980 to 2005, the number of years Y that a 65yr old man could be expected to live beyond 65 (years remaining), can be approximated by Y=0.11(x-1980)+14.1 where x represents the year.
