One cookie recipe calls for 3/4 cup of flour, and a second recipe calls for 1/3 cup of flour. How much flour will a baker need to make both recipes?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

13/12?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

not it...

OpenStudy (anonymous):

lol ok

help?...

It appears that the cook would need 3/4 cup plus 1/3 cup. Use the rule for adding fractions. I don't see why the 1 1/12 cup (13/12 cups) solution provided by Kanwar245 is "not it" I think he is right.
