When reducing fractions and ratios to the simplest form, you divide both components by the GCF of the two numbers.

It is a part of mathematics and which I believe has no such significance in our life except that if you learn it properly and get good marks then you will be happy in your life :)

Whenever you deal with fractions, you'll need to reduce them. So say you're measuring ingredients and those measurements involve fractions.
