i want to do java programs on linux platform so help me out how to install & use java in linux???

actually i'm comfortable with windows environment so nw just wanted to work with fedora11 so can u help me out..!!!
well, just type this in a terminal "su -c "yum install java-1.6.0-openjdk" That should do, although, why don't you use an ubuntu like... It is pretty easy to do anything there.
so is there any link by which we can follow some instructions n start the work.???

i'm on laptop so using both windows & fedora11 using virtual box.. n i'm using net through mobile..
