there's this graph of energy vs inter-atomic distance for energy band..what is it about??!!
there're like two pairs of lines and the lines get pointy as inter-atomic distance increases..
someone help!

Ec is the energy level of the conduction band and Ev is the energy level of the valence band. Ao i believe stands for atomic orbital. I believe this graph is trying to demonstrate the energy needed to fill each state of the orbital.
