OpenStudy (anonymous):

bodmas, small town 32 km east of karachi

OpenStudy (amistre64):

itll be whatever allows you to recall the proper order of operations :)

OpenStudy (amistre64):

1. groupings 2. multiply and divide left to right 3. add and subtract left to right

OpenStudy (akshay_budhkar):

Bodmas!!! Bracket off division,, rest stuff

OpenStudy (akshay_budhkar):

not a town!

myininaya (myininaya):

never heard of bedmas

myininaya (myininaya):

OpenStudy (anonymous):

OpenStudy (amistre64):

id perfer just to work the problems according to the proper order of notations :) i aint got room for no memory devices

OpenStudy (anonymous):

bedmas sounds cool

OpenStudy (akshay_budhkar):

ishaan BODMAS?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

It should actually be something like: P E MD AS As whatever acronym you use, you have to remember that Multiplication and Division are done from left to right. One doesn't come before the other unless there are other circumstances (e.g. parentheses). Same with Addition and Subtraction. In different parts of the world different acronyms are used BEDMAS, I know is used in Canada and PEMDAS is often used in the U.S. Notice in BEDMAS and PEMDAS that the M and D come in different orders, but they are correct if you remember what I said above.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

BODMAS (UK)

OpenStudy (akshay_budhkar):

we were taught it in our schools BODMAS

OpenStudy (amistre64):

p and e are the same

OpenStudy (amistre64):

they are both groupings

myininaya (myininaya):

whatever helps though to do order of operations

OpenStudy (akshay_budhkar):

yuhuu thanks estudier some is supporting

OpenStudy (akshay_budhkar):

lol

OpenStudy (anonymous):

does it matter? open the brackets and solve keep it simple @akshay

OpenStudy (anonymous):

THANK YOU!

myininaya (myininaya):

PEMDAS (US)

myininaya (myininaya):

lol

OpenStudy (amistre64):

OpenStudy (akshay_budhkar):

no it matters

OpenStudy (akshay_budhkar):

BODMAS is right too

OpenStudy (akshay_budhkar):

lol sorry for being so persistent

OpenStudy (anonymous):

There are probably quite a few versions in other languages too.

OpenStudy (akshay_budhkar):

9 viewing cool

OpenStudy (akshay_budhkar):

make it 10 now

myininaya (myininaya):

lol its whatever helps one to learn the order of operations i never used the abbreviation PEMDAS until i thought fundamentals of math

myininaya (myininaya):

taught*

OpenStudy (amistre64):

which is correct: foil, liof, oilf, ofli , or the other 20 ways to write it?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

lol you check bodmas before solving question lol imagine that when doing JEE problems lol@akshay

OpenStudy (akshay_budhkar):

lol no!! you will leave 90 percent of your paper if you do so..hehe

OpenStudy (anonymous):
