write a standard equation of a line with two given pionts (1,-12)(1,5)

OpenStudy (amistre64):

subtract the points fo determine the slope between them .. usually; but first make sure they dont have some like numbers

OpenStudy (amistre64):

these points have the same x value which means they are being stacked on top of each other

OpenStudy (amistre64):

x always equals 1 in this case so; x=1

OpenStudy (amistre64):

if they have the same y values, they are being placed next to each other :) which is a different problem

OpenStudy (anonymous):

itz easy ... consider x=1 y=-12 and x'=1 y'=5. then

OpenStudy (amistre64):

|dw:1314125583614:dw|

OpenStudy (anonymous):

The line describing x=1 passes through both points.

OpenStudy (amistre64):

the draw feature needs alot of work to be useful , but its a start :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

apply this formula .. m=y'-y /x'-x
