8+x is over 8 and x+5 is over 7... im sorry i didnt know how else to type it out

First I multiplied both side by 56 so 7(8+x) + 8(x+5) = 56(8x + 1) then 56 + 7x + 8x + 40 = 448x +56 Rearrange it to get... 40 = 433x so x = 40/433
