hhow did you come up with that? i have been working this one stupid problem for ever!

First I multiplied both side by 56 so 7(8+x) + 8(x+5) = 56(8x + 1) then 56 + 7x + 8x + 40 = 448x +56 Rearrange it to get... 40 = 433x so x = 40/433
