Fun Fact #10: This one is about another interesting plant. Rhizanthella gardneri otherwise known as the Underground Orchid is exactly that! It is a flower, in fact an entire plant, that lives underground. It does not photosynthesisize and is completely white except for its tiny maroon flowers (held within a single head of around 150 flowers). It gets its energy (or food) from a fungus (a mychorrihzal fungi) that extracts it from a particular shrub, the Broom Honeymyrtle. The wiki gives a nice little description of how it was found too: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rhizanthella_gardneri
