why do dry cells have +ve and -ve terminals? what do they mean? is it flow of electrons from -ve to +ve? how is a dry cell used up?? how does batteries allow electrons to flow? when we're talking about current are the electrons from the wire or the batteries?

i know a little of electrolysis which allows electricity to flow but how does it really work? are electrons from the solution?
