i can't find anything definite, but i would assume they had pretty much the same jobs as other villagers in that time period. there must have been traders, farmers, carpenters and the like.

1. Shepard/herdsmen
2. Farmer (when the soil and location made it possible)
3. Bourgeoisie (shop keepers, basic middle class)
4. Law enforcment (some one has to do it)
5. Priest (religous person before the start of islam there were many different animalistic religous groups)
