Solve the following system and show all of your work. 3y − 2x = 11 y + 2x = 9

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Okay

OpenStudy (anonymous):

well, what you can do is solve the 2nd equation for y. Like so, y=9-2x. Then substitute this value for y into the firs equation like so: 3(9-2x)-2x=11.

sam is there to show the Work!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

now solve that equation for x. Finally substitute that value for x into either equation and get you y value

OpenStudy (anonymous):

but whats the answer

OpenStudy (saifoo.khan):

x = 2, y = 5
