I can't open my flashdrive. It doesn't appear under My Computer or in Disk Management. I have important files there. Please help.
I did have this problem too. To solve this situation: Either: Click on the arrow on the address bar on windows explorer. You will get a list of paths ie, (Desktop, My Computer, 3 1/2 Floppy disk, ... and so on). Scroll and you'll see the name of your flashdrive. Then you simply click on it. Or: Plug your flashdrive at the back of your CPU casing rather than the front and press F5 to refresh. Your flashdrive will eventually appear. If neither solutions work, either your flashdrive is damaged or your PC does not detect it.
I'm very much afraid it's the former. Is there any way to retrieve those files, or are they lost forever?
Try opening your flashdrive in another pc.
That doesn't work. I read the reviews on the device; it seems like they all failed after some time. Just wanted to know if I could recover what I lost. I was transferring my files onto the flashdrive, but it suddenly quit on me- and it hasn't opened since on any pc.
I found some links. Hope that'll be useful to you. http://www.recoverdatatools.com/pen-drive-data-recovery.html (for pen drives) http://www.recoverdata.in/recovery-data/memory-stick-data-recovery-utilities.html (memory stick) If this stills does not work, type this on google search engine, "file recovery from pen drive".
I'm having a similar issue with my newly bought Verbatim flash drive, but I'll look into those links as well. Thanks.
I went to the disk management settings on the admin tools and when I went to format it it says " the cluster size is too big for the selected file system."
